Kate has been asking for a haircut for a month or so now. She claims to like her hair as it is, but she longs to mimic her style icon who sport a chin-length bob.

Who doesn't take their fashion cues from a 13" doll??

It is weird for me that my kids have their own personal preferences. When they were little, they wore what I picked out. Their hair looked the way I wanted it to look. As they began to assert themselves with weird clothing combinations (stripes and plaid) and accessory choices (a dozen necklaces and tutus over the dress), I laughed it off...and insisted that they wear what I selected when going out in public. :)
Now they are choosing their own clothes in stores. They are dressing themselves independently. (Usually a group effort as they choose to match most of the time).
And they are deciding on hair cuts and styles. Thankfully Kate-mo appears to have good taste so far!

When I texted that last photo to my mom-in-law, she pointed out that Kate looks freakishly similar to a young Nicholas.

| Nick at age 3. Like father, like daughter. :) |
The hair, the eyes, the smile, the expression...Kate-mo and Nicky-bo are two peas in a pod!
Rest assured I will insist that Kate stick to the bob and avoid a pixie cut. We wouldn't want to make the father/daughter resemblance too strong! :)

She is so adorable! Love her "style icon" haha.. Cute cute. And wow.. she looks exactly like Nick as a kiddo!
Super cute hair cut, I really like it :-) Letting my boys dress themselves has been a major effort of "letting go" on my part, because they have no natural sense of what matches--at all--and also, they are really likely to wear dirty clothes, their brothers clothes, no clothes.....etc.
